Commissioned articles, edited to a house standard

A monthly editorial program built on writers who know your sector, briefs grounded in search data, and a senior lead who edits every piece before you see it.

Editorial program

Your competitors are all publishing the same page

In most specialist categories, every competitor has published the same introductory article, because they all briefed a generalist writer from the same keyword tool. None of it is wrong. None of it is worth reading either, and none of it earns a link or a second visit.

The opening is clear once you see it. Commission someone who understands the work, give them a brief built on what buyers actually search for, draw on your own team's experience, and edit the result properly. It takes more care per piece than a content mill, and it is much harder for a competitor to copy, because the substance comes from your business rather than from the current top ten results.

What the work is

Editorial program, in four parts.

01

Writers who know the sector

We keep a roster of about 30 freelance writers, each vetted for a specific field: software, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, professional services, and others. We match your program to one or two of them and keep them on it, so they learn your products and your buyers over time instead of starting cold every month.

02

Briefs from search data and your experts

Every article starts from a written brief: the query it targets, the questions a buyer needs answered, the angle we think competitors have missed, and the internal pages it should link to. Where your own people know something a writer cannot, we run a 20-minute recorded interview and build the draft around it.

03

Senior editing to a house style

In the first month we document a house style for your program: voice, terminology, formatting, and the claims you can and cannot make. Every article is edited against it by your senior lead for argument, accuracy, and structure as well as grammar, so the whole program reads as one publication rather than a collection of pieces.

04

Measurement and digital PR

Each month you receive a short performance note: what was published, how earlier pieces are indexing and ranking, and what we would change. On the Program plan, once a quarter we pitch one substantial piece to trade publications and newsletters from a list you approve first. We cannot guarantee coverage; we can make the pitch worth reading.

What you receive
  • Four commissioned articles a month on the Editorial plan, eight on the Program plan
  • A documented house style for your program, revised as it develops
  • A written brief for every article, shared with you before drafting begins
  • A monthly performance note covering everything published
  • On the Program plan, one digital PR pitch a quarter and a record of the outcome
Timeline

The house style and the first month's briefs are agreed in the first two weeks. The first articles arrive in week three or four, and publishing then runs monthly for as long as you keep the plan. Single articles ordered pay as you go are delivered in seven working days.

Who this is for

Specialist categories where expertise is genuinely scarce and a buyer can tell within two paragraphs whether the writer understands the subject, and companies that would rather publish four good articles a month than twenty forgettable ones.

Questions

About this service.

How long are the articles?
As long as the subject needs, which is usually 900 to 1,500 words. We brief to the query and the reader rather than to a word count, and we will tell you when a topic deserves a shorter page or should be folded into one you already have.
What if our experts are too busy?
Most are. The usual arrangement is a 20-minute recorded interview, which the writer turns into a draft your expert reviews and corrects. It costs them about half an hour rather than a weekend. If no one is available, the writer works from published sources and your existing material.
Do we own the content?
Yes, outright, once the invoice for that month is paid. You can publish under your company byline or your experts' names, and you keep every article and the house style if you stop working with us.
